Heck, it took almost a year and a half to get started on it!! I call it "Jamaica Daze" - mostly because I was in a daze the whole time I was there. It was an all-inclusive resort called Sunset Beach in 'Mobay' (Montego Bay), with a fabulous ocean view (and pool view - with swim-up bar) from our room - yah, mon!!. This bag is mostly in peyote stitch, using size 11 beads. Both the hummingbird and the hibiscus are 'in relief', using a second layer to give them more depth. The hibiscus flower is done in 14's, and the lower part of the strap is a dutch spiral. Click on the bag to see a full-size picture of it.

One Christmas I made each of my daughter's a bag, this one is for the 'middle' daughter, Vanessa. I never did get the other's scanned.

I call this Spring Dusk because the aqua and pink make me think of a spring sunset. The scanner just didn't do the colors justice.

This one has matching earrings and a choker . I needed a white set to go with all of my summer things.

This also has earrings to match.

Medicine Bags

These bags are also made with Right Angle Weave (RAW) using the single needle method. In order to achieve detail, other than geometric patterns, these bags are a bit larger than the Amulet Bags. They run about 2 1/2' by 3" not including the fringe. I tend to call these 'Medicine Bags' due to their size.

I wear this bag more than any other, and now I've made some earrings to match. Click here to see the pattern for this bag.

I adapted this pattern for RAW from a pattern in an old Beads to Buckskins, and added my Feather Earrings .
