Experiments in dimension.

Jill in the BoxI collect Jack in the Box antenna balls, mostly because I think the character is so cool. I made this beaded Jill so Jack would have someone to date. The hat is removable. -
Jill in the Box, rear viewHere is Jill from the back. The hair is matte beads in a spiral twist. -
Joker BoxBox based on Julia S. Pretl's "little boxes" book. I like the black and white harlequin design. -
Double DiceI made this with the same technique as the Joker box. It's about 3/4" on each side and there is another actual dice inside of it. When you shake it you can hear it rattle. -
WaterfallI found this bottle at a yard sale and the shape fascinated me. It is covered with netted stitch. -
Bead BoxThis is the triangular box from Julia S. Pretl's "little boxes" book. I didn't follow any of the patterns, just made it up as I went. This is a great book, and the projects aren't too hard to follow. If you have a passion for small containers like I do, it a wonderful project.
Daisy's BottleThis little bottle was made for my friend, Daisy. The bottle stands about 5" tall, including the cork. The middle of the daisy on the top of the cork is a 2mm faceted yellow Czech bead. I attached it to the bottle with a daisy chain as the cork is loose and could easily be lost.
Daisy Slave BraceletI have always loved slave bracelets (a design that includes the bracelet linked to the ring), and have been experimenting in creating one with beads. This was inspired by my friend, Debi, who loves old 'hippie' stuff and daisy chains.-
Eyeglass LeashI'm quickly losing my ability to see up close so my reading glasses are now a permanent part of my wardrobe. This is made of Spiral Rope Chain. -
Going GlobalI saw this bottle and knew it would be a challenge. Some of the pattern was simply a 'go for it and see what happens'. It's all done in size 11 regular seed beads using peyote stitch. The cork is covered with peyote stitch, then I added 'fluff', and the rim at the top of the bottle is spiral rope chain. -
CandlestickThis candle holder stands 7" tall. The beading is peyote stitch. Taking advantage of the different sizes of standard size 11 beads I was able to maintain the same pattern. The base is just a bit larger than the top so I used the larger beads at the bottom and smaller beads on the top. -
Rosey LightsThis is the 3rd beaded lighter cover I have made. The loomed beadwork is stitched to a leather lighter case I made. There is a 'ring' at the top, this is used to attach a spring-clasp hook which allows the lighter to be hooked onto a belt loop, or purse strap. I attach my extra set of keys here. -
Swan LakeThis wall hanging is approximately 10" wide and was adapted from a needlepoint pattern. The beads (size 11) are 'stitched' on to a plastic canvas. The edge is wrapped in tubular peyote stitch and the strap is done in a 4 strand round braid, ending with a "Turk's Head" knot. The hanging is fully backed with leather.
